I requested a book through I-Share, but it was delivered as an ILLiad request. What happened?

Answer

If your I-Share request cannot be fulfilled by a member of the CARLI consortium, it will automatically roll over to ILLiad and we will attempt to complete it as an interlibrary loan request instead. Interlibrary loan can take advantage of lending partners outside of the state of Illinois and the I-Share network, so it is possible that a failed I-Share request could still succeed as an interlibrary loan request.

Please note that ILLiad requests which originate in I-Share are lent under terms set by the lending institution, and not the standard I-Share terms. This could mean that the loan will be shorter than you anticipated, the book could be recalled before the end of the borrowing period, and/or it may or may not be possible to request a renewal.

Additionally, books borrowed through ILLiad must be returned to RUSH, and cannot be returned directly to the lending institution or another I-Share institution. Contact the library at library@rush.edu or reply to your ILLiad notification email if you have any questions about your loan.
